Money

"I used to get mad when he would say anything about how much money he’s had to spend for our college educations or when he would get mad at mom for spending so much . Now I see that he’s not being selfish. He’d just like to be able to retire at 65."

"I see now why my father has always felt that I was comparing him to other dads because he can’t afford to drown me with gifts.  I need to let him know I’m not judging him on this basis of his income."

"I used to feel that whenever my dad looked at me, all he could see was a big dollar sign. But I was always calling him for more money. I made him feel that he was just a big wallet. I’ve stopped doing that."
